Chapter 58
Teenage hearts were made to withstand a lot, and though Lee missed Josh and what they had, he had good friends to help him heal. Not to mention, Cody, who he'd begun to think of as more than just a friend. They didn't see each other often, but when they did it was a special event. Lee had worried about Cody's dad's interference in their friendship, but so far he hadn't even met the man. He supposed his sheriff duties kept him busy, even in a small town like theirs or that he really didn't take that much interest in Cody once he'd proven he was going to be a rebellious little S.O.B as he called him.
February was mild, March brought some snow but it quickly melted and the boys began to dream of warmer temps, of spring, of baseball, and of course school ending in May. Cody wasn't much for sports but he promised he'd be at Lee's games if he could, and even come to practice if he wanted him to. Lee thought that might seem a bit weird to the other players and the coach but he didn't want to discourage Cody from doing so if that was what he wanted.
Practice began late in March, the weather decent during the days, though the nights were still a bit chilly. They had a good solid team with Jordy, Seth, Lee, Carl, Tony, and a few other of their friends. Jerry chose not to play, instead concentrating on a new found love, music. He was taking piano lessons and had begun to teach himself to play the guitar. He was coming along well and everyone was behind him 100 %, especially Jordy, Lee, and Seth.
The other boys had good singing voices and often joined him in an impromptu sing along, often with the adults applauding them loudly at the end. They'd even made a YouTube video and posted it to Jerry's account and it had a few hundred likes already.
The boys had diverse interests and talents, Seth surprisingly strong in math skills, while Jordy excelled in English and grammar. Lee was an all around intelligent kid who had managed to pull straight A's most of the time, even during his period of mourning and readjustment after the loss of his parents.
Carl was athletic and fairly intelligent, but he never seemed to be more than a B student. However, he didn't worry, for he had never aspired to go further than high school. Like his father and most of his family he'd go into the workforce after graduating and be content to be average.
Cody was intelligent, but his rebellious nature and distaste for the status quo often left him on the outside, with few friends until Lee and company came along. Even the teachers seemed to avoid confrontation with him, though some of them recognized his intelligence and hoped he would grow out of his rebellion.
It was a beautiful day in mid March and the boys had just helped coach unpack the equipment when Lee saw Cody heading toward the practice field. He was a little nervous at first, wondering what the others might think, but to his relief Cody just climbed into the bleachers and sat, a pair of earbuds in as he listened to something on his phone.
He didn't wave or try to get Lee's attention, but every time Lee looked his way their eyes seemed to meet and, and though Cody wasn't much of a smiler, his look was pleasant.
Lee shrugged it off after a while and got his head back into practice and a little later when he and Jordy were lined up to do some batting, Jordy assured Lee that it was no big deal, that no one thought anything about it.
"How did you know I was worried?" Lee chuckled.
"Cause you're my bro, and I can read you like a book."
"Yeah, he looks so cute up there," Lee said blushing.
Jordy chuckled, "Yeah, I think he likes you."
"Yeah, well...I like him, too."
"Lee, you're up!" Coach hollered, and as Lee took his place the man began to throw an assortment of random pitches, all but one of which Lee managed to hit.
"Good job, next!"
After practice Lee helped Coach Edwards pack up the gear and carry it to his pickup, then as he watched the coach and his son Jacob drive away, he finally turned to Cody just as he started getting down from the bleachers.
"Hey," Cody said, "you looked good out there, I guess," he added with a chuckle, "not like I'd know for sure..."
"Practice is fun, but the real games can be stressful," Lee said, "what you listenin' to?"
Cody popped one earbud out and handed it to Lee who placed it in his ear, "Oh, yeah...I like that..."
They discussed the music for a while, then Jordy and Seth came up to say hi and to remind Lee that their mom was on the way.
"Need a ride home?" Lee offered to Cody.
"Nah, I'm not ready to go home, yet."
"How're things at home?" Lee asked before he could stop himself.
"The same, I guess. Only it seems like my old man has given up on me," he laughed bitterly, "he doesn't even bother to chew me out anymore."
"That's good, right?"
"I guess," Cody sighed.
Lee wanted to say more, but Mrs. Kelly's arrival put an end to their conversation.
"See you at school tomorrow," Lee said daring to touch the other boy's hand. He'd rather have kissed him, but out here in the open he was worried someone other than his family might see.
"Yeah, cool. Later," Cody said holding Lee's hand just a second before letting it go.
Lee smiled, "Thanks for coming, it was cool having you here."
"No probs. It's cool."
In the SUV, Mrs. Kelly greeted the boys as they climbed in and asked if Cody needed a ride. Lee chuckled, "Nope, already asked him and he's not ready to go home."
"All right, well...anytime any of your friends need a ride, you know they're welcome to tag along."
"Yes, mom, thanks."
That night Lee texted Cody right after dinner to make sure he was okay, and Cody seemed upbeat and happy for a change, even going so far as to use heart and smiley faced emojis and such. Lee had to smile, the boy could really surprise him at times. He felt comforted and happy when he finally ended the chat and went off to find Jordy and see what he was up to.
****
Cody made it to most practices, and when the first game was scheduled in April he was in the front row of the home team's side. He was dressed all in black as usual, but this time he wore a black ball cap, something new for him, and Lee was curious about what that was all about.
The game was with a team from Locust Grove and the Salina team easily beat them 4-2. The two runs being scored in the first inning when one of the LG boys hit a home run. After that they seemed to lose their energy and didn't score again during the rest of the game.
Lee was so pumped by the victory that he almost forgot about Cody but after the customary fist bump and 'good game' with the other team he headed to the dugout and discovered Cody there on the other side of the fence waiting for him.
"Good game," Cody said.
"Yeah, it was awesome," Lee said, "hey, what's up with the hat?" he chuckled.
"Like it? It's my attempt at promoting the baseball spirit."
"I do like it, and thanks," Lee said softly making sure no one else could overhear, "and thanks for being here to support me and all."
"Yep, no problem."
Cody walked Lee to the Kelly's SUV and again Lee asked if he needed a ride, and this time he accepted. Hey, what are you doing tonight?" Lee asked after the two had buckled up in the last row of seats.
"Nuttin, why?"
"Wanna see if you can come over and spend the night?"
Cody shrugged, trying not to look too excited, but he had hoped Lee might suggest something like this, "Is it okay with your folks?"
"Mom, can Cody spend the night?" Lee said speaking up so his mom could hear him.
"I don't see why not," Mrs. Kelly said, "as long as it's okay with his parents."
"My dad's at work, but I can call my bro, he's at home and in charge when dad is gone," Cody said, not disparaging his father or step out of respect for Mrs. Kelly.
And one phone call later, the deal was done. They stopped for pizza then and headed to the camp ground a very happy couple of boys holding hands in the back seat.
****
That night the boys rode the 4-wheelers, roamed the camp, and later played video games in the game room. Sex was the last thing on Lee and Cody's mind, both just enjoying each other's company and the company of the other boys.
Seth and Jordy were less touchy-feely than usual, perhaps out of deference to the two new friends, and Jerry seemed to have his head somewhere else entirely. In fact, he later excused himself and went home to practice his guitar, playing for his dads, who applauded his near perfect performance.
At last it was bedtime and there was no question where Cody would sleep. After taking turns in the shower, although Lee would have preferred they shower together he thought that might be too forward, the two settled into Lee's queen-sized bed in just their boxer briefs.
Cody's were unsurprisingly black, and Lee chuckled when he saw them. Lee's were bright yellow with red piping on the leg openings and waistband and they were of a satiny material that practically gleamed in the lamp light.
"Wow, quite a contrast, black and yellow. Together we'd look like a bumble bee," Lee teased.
"Should we get closer then?" Cody said with a mischievous smile.
"As close as you want," Lee said in a husky voice.
"I wonder what my old man would think if he could see me now, snuggled up to a hot boy like you?"
"Ugh, let's hope he never does," Lee chuckled, "but Jake is pretty hot..." he teased.
Cody chuckled, "Jake is a pussy magnet. I doubt he even has to jerk off, probably has some girl do it for him."
"To each his own," Lee said, "I'm not knocking it. Someday I may want to find a nice girl and settle down, have 2.3 kids and a dog."
Cody laughed, "I can't see myself ever getting married, not even to a dude. I think I'll be alone for the rest of my life."
"Excuse me," Lee said indignantly, "what am I, a figment of your imagination? You are not alone as long as I'm around."
"Oh, yeah, sorry," Cody sighed, "I didn't mean you weren't important or anything. I just don't see this lasting, that's all."
"Why? Maybe you can't have a friend because you set yourself up to fail each time one comes along."
"Hey, I don't wanna fight," Cody said placing a hand on Lee's chiseled chest.
"Then let's make love instead," Lee said grinning.
"Yeah, like what did you have in mind?" Cody said biting his lower lip and looking oh so cute at the moment.
"Maybe start with this..." Lee said, then leaning in he engaged Cody in a sweet chaste kiss.
"Mmm, that's a good start, but maybe a little tongue..." Cody chuckled. And Lee was happy to oblige.
The kiss progressed to making out, then groping, and finally the undies came off and two naked hot teenage boys were rolling around on the bed pressing their engorged penises together as the kiss continued. This was different than most of the sex Lee had experienced up until now. Before there had always been an urgency to get off, with the kissing and groping just being a necessary step along the way. But with Cody, Lee wanted it to last, wanted to savor the feel of his body beneath him, his soft wet kisses and breathe in his soft gentle fragrance.
"I love you..." Lee suddenly panted, hoping he hadn't screwed things up by declaring his love so soon in their relationship. But damn it, that was what he felt, and if Cody didn't feel the same way too now was the time to find out before it went too far.
"No you don't, no one can love me," Cody said, his voice tinged with sorrow.
"Why would you say that?" Lee said ceasing his grinding, but continuing to place soft kisses on Cody's face.
"I don't deserve love. I'm a bad person," Cody said stubbornly.
"Not from what I've seen. Do you pull the wings off flies, torture small animals, do drugs?" Lee teased.
"No, of course not. I love animals..."
"Then why do you put yourself down so much. Is this about your father?"
"He hates me," Cody said sadly, "even Jake likes me more than my old man does."
"Has he ever actually said that?" Lee asked softly.
"No...not in so many words. It's how he treats me...that's all, I can tell..."
"Maybe he's just busy with work and doesn't understand how hard on you this is," Lee suggested, "but regardless of how you feel about him and what you think, that doesn't mean you're not a good person, and that someone else can't love you. Look, I know it might be too soon to say I'm in love with you, but I do love you. I have since that first time we talked. You're a good person and very unique and you came along when I needed someone the most, so I'm not gonna give up on you."
"Thanks," Cody said wiping a tear from his eye, "I guess I kind of love you too, only I'm not really sure what love is like, cause I've never felt that before, well, except maybe for my mom, but that's different."
Lee rolled off of Cody and just snuggled up to his side, "So...tell me about your mom," he said, his need to get off forgotten as he concentrated on getting to know this wounded boy better...
****
"Morning, guys," Jordy said coming through the door of the bathroom he shared with Lee, only to find Lee and Cody standing at the sink brushing their teeth.
"Hey, bro," Lee said, almost done.
"Just need to pee, don't mind me," a naked Jordy said as he moved to the toilet which was in a little enclosed area of it's own.
Cody couldn't help but stare at Jordy's naked body, but he thought Lee had a nicer body and he'd pretty much explored every square inch of it last night. He smiled when he thought about how sweet Lee had been. He's held him while he spilled out his life story and how much is mom's death had hurt him, while his dad just seemed to dismiss it and go about his business as usual. He was angry at his dad, and his dad had long since given up on trying to figure out why. So now they lived together in uneasy silence, periodically broken when Cody did or said something that offended the man.
But afterwards, his soul cleansed and his tears dried, he and Lee had made love. Not had sex, made love, and it was wonderful. No part of their bodies remained untouched, unloved either time they'd made love. Exhausted and sated they'd fallen asleep in each other's arms and slept peacefully till morning.
"You two look chipper today," Seth said wandering in, scratching his balls, also naked.
"Do you guys always walk around naked," Cody chuckled.
"I should have warned you," Lee said, "usually I'm that way too, but I wore my undies just for you."
"Why? Not like you didn't see the whole package last night," Jordy teased.
"Twice," Lee chuckled.
Cody blushed, "I guess there are no secret between you guys, huh?"
"Not many," Seth said from the toilet.
"So...what do you guys want to do today?" Jordy asked, washing his hands as Lee moved away from one of the sinks.
"Eat!" Lee said enthusiastically, "I'm starved."
"Yeah, sex burns a lot of calories," Seth said joining them now and washing up.
"You should know," Lee chuckled, "I'm surprised you haven't worn that thing out by now."
"Takes a lickin' and goes on prickin'," Seth joked, and they all moaned at his attempt at humor.
Later, dressed and eager for breakfast, the four teens regrouped in the kitchen as Mrs. Kelly was putting the finishing touches on their meal.
"Mmm, smells great, mom," Jordy said, "dad already eat?"
"Hours ago," she laughed, "he and Mack are doing something down at campsite 7."
"Any new campers today?"
"Not so far, but there's only two cabins empty and three campsites."
"Wow, that's great," Jordy said, and the C-store is doing a booming business this time of year. We rich yet?"
"Not Hilton rich, but we're doing okay," Mrs. Kelly laughed.
"Hilton, oh...the hotel guy?" Seth said looking confused.
Breakfast was scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and biscuits with butter, honey, or jam. The boys made quick work of the food and without asking started cleanup. Even Cody joined in and Mrs. Kelly smiled.
They were all good boys and she was proud to be their mother, even if she'd only given birth to one of them, Jordan. This new boy, Cody, was different, but in his own way he was a sweet boy, and she sensed that he especially needed some mothering. She'd heard how he'd lost his own mother and a little of the problems between him and his dad, and she thought if anyone can help him cope it's my boys.
"We're going to take the death machines out again, mom," Jordy joked.
Mrs. Kelly rolled her eyes, "Death machines, indeed, be careful."
"We will, mom," Lee assured her, "we're gonna go see if Jer wants to go too. Lately he's been into his music and doesn't want to hang out as much."
"He's getting quite good at both piano and guitar," Mrs. Kelly said smiling, "but he does need to balance his life out with a little play now and then."
"We'll drag him away if we have to," Seth said grinning.
"Not behind the 4-wheeler, I hope," Mrs. Kelly joked, and they all laughed.
****
Fortunately, they didn't have to drag Jerry out, he was eager and willing to go four-wheeling and seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. They passed Mr. Kelly and Mack on the way to the far end of the camp grounds and stopped to chat a moment before proceeding. The two adults had been cleaning up a mess left behind by two campers who'd stayed there the last two nights. Apparently they'd been real slobs and left quite a mess. Needless to say, they were now banned from the camp ground.
The boys finally headed up to the overlook, and for the first time Cody got to experience the magnificent view of the lake from the rock ledge. He seemed as impressed as the other boys had been the first time and stood holding Lee's hand as he gazed out at the sparkling water of the lake. A sail boat floated lazily in the distance and several motor craft moved lazily across the water.
"What's down there?"
"Certain and painful death," Seth joked, though his assessment wasn't far from wrong. A drop like that would no doubt either severely injure or kill anyone going over the edge.
"I don't like pain," Cody said looking thoughtful, "I mean, is it trees and rocks or what?"
"It's the trail we came up, it winds around till it comes up here," Jordy explained, "trees, rocks, bushes, and the gravel trail beyond, but if you fell you'd mostly hit trees, I guess."
Lee was a bit worried by Cody's interest in the drop, but as far as he knew the boy had never talked about suicide or hurting himself, however, he figured if Cody was thinking along that line it was something he wouldn't go around broadcasting. Still, maybe this was a subtle hint and he was crying out for help. Damn, being friends and potentially boyfriends with someone like Cody wasn't going to be easy, even if he felt it was worth it in the end.
"Can I drive on the way back?" Cody asked, surprising everyone.
"Sorry, but mom and dad have a strict rule about that. No one drives these things unless they've had the safety course," Jordy explained.
Cody nodded, "Okay, no problem," he said pulling Lee along with him as he stepped away from the edge.
"Jerry rode behind Seth, Jordy rode alone, and Cody snuggled up behind Lee as they headed back to the camp ground.
Lee loved the feel of Cody's body against his, and added to the stimulus of the vibrating engine he was soon hard. Cody seemed to sense his condition and with a wicked grin he reached down and laid his hand on Lee's crotch.
"Ugh, careful..." Lee said just loud enough for the teen boy to hear.
"Anywhere private we can go?" Cody said bumping helmets with Lee.
Lee nodded and when they reached the main road he veered off and headed to one of the dead end trails. The others seemed to understand that Lee and Cody wanted some time alone and didn't follow, instead heading back to the campground.
The trees were nearly in full bloom now and the foliage afforded them plenty of privacy. The road veered sharply to the right, and in any event they could hear anyone approaching long before they came into view.
"So, what did you have in mind?"
"Well, Cody said licking his lips, "do you think the others will follow us?"
"Nope, they didn't turn off, I guess they understood what was up."
"Oh, okay, well..." Cody said leaning in to kiss Lee, his hand going to the hardness in Lee's jeans again.
"Umm, that feels great, why don't you get it out?" Lee moaned.
Fumbling for Lee's top button then his zipper, Cody soon had Lee's jeans down to his thighs, Lee's hardness covered only by a thin layer of cloth. Cupping Lee's balls and cock through the silky garment, Cody leaned in and kissed Lee again.
"Mmm...let me get yours out, too," Lee murmured.
Cody's jeans were loose fitting and dropped away to his knees once Lee had them unzipped. As he had the night before, the goth boy wore black boxer briefs, the front tented obscenely and a wet spot forming where the tip of his penis touched them.
"Nice, I love your black undies," Lee hissed.
"I like yours, too," Cody said breathlessly as Lee fondled his cock and balls through the soft cotton fabric.
"Shall we free our boys?" Lee whispered, a devilish look on his face.
"O...okay," Cody said taking in a sharp breath, the feeling in his groin one of agony and ecstasy.
Suddenly two hard cocks sprang up, freed at lastn and the two teens wasted no time handling each other's cock. Lee, never one to resist temptation dropped to his knees after only a few seconds and began nuzzling and licking Cody's family jewels, before turning his attention to his stiff prick.
"Ummm," Cody moaned, throwing his head back and running his hands through Lee's hair.
"You taste so good," Lee said, pulling up for just a moment.
"Don't make me come yet, I wanna suck you now," Cody insisted and Lee reluctantly released his suction on the boy's cock and stood.
"Okay, but I get to finish you when you're done."
"Deal, I just like sucking you better when I haven't gotten my rocks off yet, it's more intense for me."
"All right, get at it then," Lee chuckled, "it ain't gonna suck itself."
Cody laughed and dropped to his knees in the soft grass and began giving Lee the blowjob of a lifetime. Cody seemed even more aroused and in tune with Lee than he had in bed the night before and Lee was loving every moment of it. Maybe it had something to do with their surroundings or the hint of danger of doing it outside, but whatever the reason it was one to remember.
Needless to say, Lee didn't last as long as he would have liked, but he made no attempt to hold back. His only warning to Cody of the impending deluge of cum was his accelerated panting and that one last cry of ecstasy as he came.
"Mmm," Cody mumbled around Lee's spurting cock, his own cock choosing that moment to erupt as well, without having ever touched it. He hoped Lee wouldn't be upset, but he had no control over it, it just happened, weird as it was.
As soon as Cody was sure he had all of Lee's load, he stood and immediately began kissing him, deeply, sharing his tasty cum with him even as his own cock continued to drip onto the ground.
"You came," Lee observed, "no fair, but at least I can clean you up," he added dropping to his knees and beginning to lick and suck up the remnants of Cody's orgasm.
"I got a little on my jeans," Cody observed some time later, "but none on my undies."
"Hold on, I come prepared," Lee said pulling some folded tissues from his jacket pocket, "Here wipe up as much as you can."
Always conscious of the environment, rather than toss the used tissues on the ground, Cody crumpled them up so the wet spot was on the inside and jammed them into his jean pocket. Lee didn't comment, but this was just one more thing he loved about the boy, he was nature friendly.
The ride back was uneventful, and when they parked the 4-wheeler in the shed the other boys were just topping off the gas tanks on the other two quads. Jordy looked up grinning and gave the two a wink.
"Have fun, you two?"
"Yep," Lee said unashamedly, "but only once."
Seth laughed, "You must be getting old."
Lee stuck out his tongue, "I go for quality, not quantity."
Cody blushed, but he was glad the other boys were cool with his and Lee's messing around.
Mr. Kelly suddenly came through the door, and the boys directed their attention to him. They couldn't quite read the look on his face, not even Jordy, who'd known him all his life.
Was it a look of surprise, of fear, of sorrow?
"Boys, there's been some news, and...I need to talk to you..." then as if noticing there was one extra boy he added, "Oh, hello, you're Cody, right?"
"Yes, sir," Cody said, uncomfortable at being the center of attention again.
"It can wait, umm...how long is your friend staying?" he asked of Jordy.
"Dad, what's wrong. Is it bad news?" Jordy said ignoring his father's question.
"No, not at all," Mr. Kelly said looking confused now, "it can wait. Just let us know if Cody needs a ride home..."
When Mr. Kelly was gone, Jordy turned to Lee with concern, "What the...?"
"I know, right, he's acting weird, but he said it wasn't bad news. Hey, maybe mom is pregnant," he teased.
Jordy laughed, "Yeah, wouldn't that be something. Well, I guess we'll find out, eventually."
"I should go," Cody said looking at his phone and seeing the time, "can I get a ride?"
"Are you sure?" Lee said, "dad said there was no hurry."
"It's almost 4, I should be home when my old man comes home at six."
"If you're sure. Come on, I'm sure mom will drive you."
Mrs. Kelly too seemed different, but nothing the boys could put a finger on. She was polite, but her witty humor seemed to be on hold and she was all business as she drove Cody home. Lee went along for the ride, but the other boys elected to stay home, hoping to learn a little more from Mr. Kelly.
By the time Mrs. Kelly and Lee returned, Mack and Mark had showed up at the lake house looking just as confused as the boys did. Apparently whatever this news was, the two were in the dark as well, and they would learn what it was all about when the boys did.
Mrs. Kelly offered everyone something to drink, but everyone was too excited and pumped up to accept. Mr. Kelly who seemed to be thinking about how to begin, sat down in his recliner and looked around. Mack and Mark sat on the sofa, Mrs. Kelly in her favorite chair by the fireplace, and the boys were scattered on the carpet staring up at him with apprehension.
"Well, I guess we're all here, " he began, "this is no doubt going to be as shocking for you as it was for us, but..."
End Chapter 58
